All
vibrator systems require a crosscheck to ensure that there are no
functional or systematic errors.
Current
manufacturer’s test systems use the same algorithms present in their
vibrator control and QC systems. This does not provide a thorough
independent check and generally duplicates the QC results obtained
from the controllers.
Vision’s
Verif-I Sandwich Box Vibrator QC assures vibrator performance by using
totally independent algorithms that have been optimised to show
quickly and accurately all areas of geophysical performance.
The
Sandwich Box is a PC based independent vibrator QC package offering
unrivalled user friendliness and speed of operation. The system has
been developed using experience gained auditing a large number of
differing types of vibrator.
The unit
is housed in a rugged Peli Box and connects to a Windows PC via the
parallel port.
Only one
cable is required to connect the vibrator to the acquisition unit and
the four-accelerometer capability means that multi-component data can
be acquired simultaneously.
Data is saved to disk in SEG-D format. The
displays have been optimised to show comprehensive results in a clear
yet simple format.
Results
are available as plots or tabulated information.
