GEODESY & SURVEYING
The
Vision Group is able to provide Geodesists and Surveyors to ensure
complete positioning control onshore and offshore. Our surveying
and positioning consultants are experienced in land, marine and
transition zone 2D and 3D seismic; pipelaying and pre- and post-
route studies; rig moves; ROV and SSCV operations and many other
disciplines.
GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERING PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Within the offshore services
that The Vision Group offers are many highly qualified consultants
specifically targeted at the Geotechnical
Engineering
disciplines. Although many of the tasks within this category can
be presumed related to the offshore survey services our consultant
disciplines also encompass the following:
-
Project Studies and Design
-
Construction Project Management
-
Pipeline Engineering
-
Structural Engineering
-
Environmental Impact Studies
-
Geophysical and Geological
evaluations
ENGINEERING SURVEY SERVICES
The Vision
Group
provides services to the offshore engineering and construction
industry. The following examples of offshore survey services
complement the existing services but may be managed autonomously:
- Hydrographic surveys
utilizing single and multi-beam sources
- High-resolution analog
and digital site surveys
- Dredging surveys
- MOD (N) or NOAA nautical
chart upgrade surveys
- Environmental remediation
site analysis
- Pre- and post- pipeline
surveys
- Right-of-way/route
surveys
- Search and recovery
operations
- ROV and RCV operations
- Cathodic protection
services
- Gravity and/or magnetic
surveys
- Oceanographic studies
The objectives for many high resolution and construction and
engineering surveys would generally take the form of:
-
Defining the water depths
across the site and reducing them to a stated vertical datum,
ordinarily MSL (Mean Sea Level) or LAT (Lowest Astronomical
Tide) and establish a seabed gradient.
- Identifying any seabed
features and obstructions.
- Identifying the seabed
lithology and structures such as faulting, unconformities,
channeling and sand waves.
- Identifying any surveying
or drilling hazards such as shallow gas pockets close to the
seabed.
-
Identifying pipe laying,
trenching, drilling, anchoring and/or leg penetration
constraints, such as boulders at the seabed or within the
shallow geology.
- Recording the
environmental, tidal and current conditions for the area.
- Other services, such as
the planning of engineering and/or construction site surveys,
area scouting trips or pre-seismic shoot area analyses can also
be offered.
DRILLING ENGINEERS & WELL-SITE GEOLOGISTS
With the increased drilling
activity world-wide, The Vision
Group has recognized a requirement to
provide specialists particularly for these operations. To enhance
a clients’ drilling program and enable on-site evaluation of
structural and sedimentary analysis our engineers and geologists
would form part of the team on the drilling operation on- and
off-shore.
HEALTH, SAFETY
AND ENVIRONMENT
Any company within the oil- and gas-related exploration field
today, whether it is a vessel charter company, an oil company, a
contractor or a consulting firm, needs to have an understanding
(or increased awareness) of how safety and environmental planning
has to be a major factor in overall business strategy. An
awareness of safety issues and a respect for the environment are
the two most fundamental concepts of modern day survey programs.
Lack of awareness can lead to heavy costs, ultimately leading to a
real reduction in the bottom line.
The Vision Group offers qualified, experienced
personnel who can assist or take a major role in the development
of effective safety programs and environmental management
programs. Services provided include:
- Development of safety
plans and guidelines
- Pre- and post-survey
inspections
- System and equipment
audits
- Operations’ cost
evaluations
- Risk Analysis and site
assessment
- Audits of Hazmat storage
and handling
